Having all that FPV equipment on my desk, and surfing the flitetest youtube channel often lately, i thought about building a cardboard plane like they do it regularly on their page.

I thougth “when you wanna build something, start at the beginnings”, so i decided on a WW1 fighterplane.

Because i wanted to copy an already available design first, i looked at the Sopwith Camel which is available by one of the various companies that end with -zone or -hobby.

A quick search on google showed that there are around 20 Sopwith Camel plans available for free in all sizes you can emagine.

Next i made a 3d model based on a bluescreen to get the rough dimensions right:Sopwith_Camel_v40001 Sopwith_Camel_v40003

I know the Sopwith Camel is a double-wing aircraft, and after i modelled it i thought about building a platform where you can choose if its a high-wing or low-wing airplane.

I am now about to render different orthographic views so that i can print it on A3 paper, thats going to be used as plan for cutting the foam.
